Description: The main aim of the club is to watch movies in their original audio with English subtitles. The movies are world’s classics that touch different aspects of our life and are already in the hearts and minds of everyone. After watching a movie, the participants  share their impressions on the plot and events  on which a movie is based. At the same time, it is a great tool for mastering a foreign language.

Moderators:

Ximena Calderon is from Ecuador. She is a assistant at the Department of Ichthyology and Hydrobiology, Biological Institute of TSU. She is also a librarian at the International Resource Center. Ximena speaks Spanish, English, French and Russian, she loves reading and exploring the world.

Karen Quinatoa, an Ecuadorian first-year master's student at the Institute of Biology of TSU, is an active person. She was one of the organizers of the Spanish club at BelGU and took part in volunteer programs such as Мывместе in the city of Belgorod and the International Exhibition Forum Russia in Moscow. In her free time, she enjoys many things — she likes poetry, writing, and photography. She is also currently a student at the Art House painting school in Tomsk. Additionally, she attends several clubs at the library, such as the Spanish and Arabic clubs. Her favorite movie genres are horror and suspense; however, she enjoys watching movies in general. She gets so deeply involved in the stories that she sometimes cries, gets scared, or laughs. Attending the film club at our library has inspired her, bringing her closer to new cultures and languages. She is very grateful to be part of this club and values the opportunity to share her passion for cinema with others.
